"CUE BLACK TIE, TIGHTS AND TUTUS ALA DUCHAMP"

Nothing shy of a magical evening was this non-profit fundraising event for CUE (Children United by Experience) Duchamps: Tutus and Black Ties on June 5th, to help launch CUE's new TV series Wackadoodles.

A bare bones warehouse in the urban neighborhood of Oakland's Village Bottoms was transformed into an eclectic destination for the bold and the beautiful.

Hundreds of affluent donors arrived to be charmed by a strolling violinist, a mime in a gigantic bubble and theme greeters costumed in, of course, tutus and black ties.

The entrance into the space was through an elaborate "down-the-rabbit-hole" multi-dimensional laser light installation, viewed through special 3-D glasses.

Moving through the intricate corridors of illumination, guests were initiated into the evening's ongoing sensual feast of delights including fine wine, gourmet tastings and a silent auction.

To top the festivities was a full concert of singers, musicians, dancers and acrobats, all fashioned from Gregangelo and Velocity Arts' wizardry.

Suffice it to say, they came with great expectations and left with endless smiles, exotic memories and wondering how did that mime get into that bubble?
